TrainingThe availability of trained and skilled staff is a key element to ensure that an organization can respond to emergencies. Much training can be carried out on the ground during an emergency operation through On the Job Training (OJT), but the availability of formally trained and skilled staff will ensure that the emergency responders are capable of hitting the ground running. Many organizations in the ICT community are providing ICT training programs both to their own staff, as well as to partner agencies and organizations. Information on available programs will be posted on this site once received. Below are examples of training programs facilitated by WFP and its partner organizations. In WFP several both technical and managerial trainings are available to staff. Some of the trainings are delivered in the field by deployed trainers, and some are delivered in regional offices or through headquarters. Below is a list of trainings that are available to both WFP staff, and to partner organizations. Some of the trainings are delivered upon request and are the funded through programs or operations, where others are funded through central funds. In inter-agency ICT operations WFP as a standard include a training element including both OJT (to the staff that will be running and maintaining the system and equipment after the completion of the project / operation) as well as technical training both to users and ICT staff. Below is a list of training programs available to both WFP and the inter-agency community. → IT Emergency Management training → TC induction training for Standby Partners → IT induction training for Standby Partners → Let’s Spark training / Electrical training for Standby partners → Train the Trainer(Radio Operations)
